-- Rhodiana case for handspring is in! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=3734)
From those of you with the Rhodiana...can you give a best guess as to whether or not you think (from previewing the site) the Innogear Sixpack will work with the case. I'm referring to the light on top. Do you think there's enough play in the case for it? Thx
Yes, I think the 6-pack will work with this case. that little light should be fine for there is a little room for something like that to stick up. I plan to get one someday too. The case will allow maybe for a few business cards but if you have the insert, not many. A notepad won't work with this case. It is very compact. That is a nice feature with this case. it is small.

I'm getting some practice at inserting and removing my Visor from the Rhodiana case, since I am writing software for the Visor and so have frequent fatal exceptions, which require a pin reset.
Here's my technique:
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
<LI>open the Rhodiana case
<LI>turn so the springboard slot is facing you, and the buttons are on the far side of the Visor (i.e., so that the Visor looks upside down)
<LI>Put your thumbs on the two corners on the button end of the Visor.
<LI>Gently push the elastic corners of the case over the edges of the Visor, pushing down.
<LI>When the end of the case is free, grasp it and wiggle the Visor free of the clear plastic catch at the top of the case.
</UL>
To insert the Visor, reverse the instructions.
Am almost sold with the Rhodiana. Just one critical question...I've read that it doesn't add much to the size of the visor. So does it fit comfortably in a casual pants front pocket? The leather slip case that comes with the visor deluxe it acceptable enough for me. Is it gonna be bulkier than that?
Please! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Well, let's see....
<slip>
My Rhodiana encased Visor seems to fit just fine into the front pocket of my jeans. Plenty of room.
Keep in mind that I do not have the belt clip attachment on my Rhodiana.
Ordered my case today!! can't wait to have it and toss that stupid plastic cover.
Just ordered the Rhodiana case as well... super friendy CSR... I also wanted teh EB Slip case but they are on Backordered again.
I will eventually buy the EB slipper but still not sure if I should get the version with the clip, the clip version showed on their web page seems to indicate that it may be hard to stuff the case into a pocket (due to the part sticking out to attach to the clip).
This is a great thread! I'm almost completely sold on the Rhodiana case, but I had one additional question.
Can the Rhodiana case hold a springboard module like the MiniJam MP3 module with the case closed? Based on the pictures on the Innogear site (http://www.innogear.com/mj.htm), I think the MiniJam extends slightly above the top of the Visor about a 1/4-1/2 inch.
Any chance that the Rhodiana will be able to hold it?
Thanks
I have had my case for over a week now and really really like it. At first I had some questions but I really like it. I hotsync usually only once in the morning before I leave and getting it out isn't that hard. It is a minor annoyance when you consider all the other awesome characteristics. I beamed with another user the other day and kept it in the case. Worked great.
As far as springboards, I think the 6pak would fit fine, but there isn't room for the minijam I don't think. I believe I recall seeing a photo of the mp3 player and it appears to have several buttons and such on top. This wouldn't fit in the Rhodiana case. There is however room for that little light thing on the 6 pak. That is what I like about this case though. Everything is snug and fits well. For myself, I want springboards that don't add bulk to my handheld and the 6 pak doesn't appear too. If you were to use the minijam mp3 player, you couldn't use hte case.
Hope this is helpful. I would highly recommend this case. Great case.

I ordered the case about a two weeks ago. The rep said it may go out in a day or two. Since my CC has not been charged, I thought I'd give em a follow phone call as the case has not been rec'd yet. Both phone numbers from their WEB page have been disconnected. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks
**** Disregard....they're working now!?!?!?!

sign @$##$&...just called them and found out the order I placed on Monday has not shipped yet...can anyone do anything right?
Oh, boy, do I feel stupid!
Here I was doing all these complicated manipulations to insert my Visor into my Rhodiana case, and it turns out that it has snaps on the back to allow quick and easy insertion and removal!
This case just keeps getting better and better.
finally got the case, well worth the wait...tight snug fit, very nice....personally I like the compact size of it, it still fit in my shirt pocket or front pocket of my dockers. Personally, I don't like anything larger because it defeat the purpose having a pda....can never understand people that carry their pda in a bulky day planner type of case!
Sometimes I carry my PDA in a large planner. I carry it primarily for the access to the information, not the size.
I would use a PDA that was roughly the size of a sheet of paper if it weighed next to nothing and had a good screen, etc.
In order for me to just carry one around all of the time, it would have smaller, like the Rex Pro, yet still have the text input capabilities.
On the weekends and evenings out, the Visor just stays in my drawer or laptop bag. It just too big to carry around comfortably.
Now, I'm not complaining. I have had a Palm 1000 (upgraded to a "Pro") since they first came out and I was very happy with until the Visor came out. It could be a bigger form factor and I'd still be happy with it.
I'm posting so that this helpful thread will go back up to the top, in case anyone needs it!
I have a Franklin-Covey organizer case that I use for "business" but often just want to carry my IVX around without everything else. I've been readup up on the Rhodiana and the ShockSuit, but after reading this thread and the helpful discussion at: http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/ubb/Fo...L/000001-2.html I have no question that I'm going with the Rhodiana.
I like what I read about the size, protection, and appearance. I'm also concerned with what I read about the ShockSuit's plastic clip.
Thanks to everyone who posted here. This discussion has been VERY helpful. I hope others find it who need it.
I was concerned about removing my Visor from the Rhodiana case before I received mine. However, I am now wondering what the big deal was. Here are my tips:
1. Make sure you're using the two snaps on the back of the case to insert and remove the Visor from the case.
2. Once you open the two snaps, the Visor inserts 'buttons-first' into the case.
3. To remove, open the snaps and pull out the Visor. To avoid catching the Visor screen on the clear plastic strap, squeeze the Rhodiana case at the opening where you're pulling out your Visor (your palm should cover the front of the case/Visor and forefinger and thumb will be on opposite sides of the case/Visor). This will cause the clear plastic strap to buckle or compress. This technique will avoid catching the screen on that strap 99% of the time. Using this technique, I can pull the Visor out of the Rhodiana case while it's clipped to my belt.
Thanks for the little squeeze trick. I have been inserting it the correct way but have been taking it out of the case directly by pushing up from the back of the case. Worked pretty well but was a little ungainly.
Cheers.
No prob on the tips. I also wanted to comment on the stylus issue - I went ahead a replaced mine with one of those chrome-plated metal jobs. Very nice with a reset pin available after screwing off the back end. I believe it's the one recommended either on The-Gadgeteer review or the one here at VisorCentral.
I too just ordered my Rhodiana Case. I'm really looking forward to getting it. How long did it take you guys to revieve yours? Oh, and thanks for all the useful info above. You all pretty much sold me on this case. Thanks again,
Firelord
Ordered mine on 4/10 and received on 4/21. WELL worth twice the wait...if you dont have one, get one!
