Question overstock liquidation?

Ebay makes a great place for dumping overstock/obsolete products (or at least, ones that can't reasonably be sold on shelves..)

Perhaps HS is getting ready to liquidate their older models through auctions rather than hang on to them at price..

Although, I noticed they're not auctioning things off.. just selling. (No undercutting yourselves, now...)

A lot of companies are testing the waters in this.. IBM did, HP, a couple of comtpuer manufactors - not always are they blatant about who they are - often their in secret, and it's only in news articles you read abotu these things...

They are selling them to donate the funds to the victims of the tragedy on 9/11 like the other auctions. I think they had to put them where the geeks would find them.

Where do you see that the sales are going to the victims from 9/11? I didn't see any such sign anywhere on the auctions.

Arrow eyeballs

I think that Handspring is trying to get the Visors in front of as many eyeballs as possible. Ebay gets a lot of traffic so they should sizeable chunk of units and ebay will get a nice commission.

Handspring is auctioning the Edge under Consumer Electronics/PDA/Handspring/Handheld/Edge and they have the red, white and blue emblem after each listing indicating it's for the victim of the WTC. When I was ready to list my Edge on Ebay Handspring had about 20 of them listed. I listed mine on Amazon, I couldn't compete.
