HotSync Cannot be Perform

By error, I have download PDA-Wireless from ESPN which only support Palm VII. My Palm is a Visor Platinum only. After that, when I HotSync, the following message appeared on the Palm : "The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again".

I have removed the Desktop and re-install it but the HotSync Manager cannot be work due to Uninstall Manager exist.

For your information, I have installed the Desktop to another computer which can be worked correctly.

Please help me to solve the problem. Is there any conflicts on the software?

Have you tried reseating the visor in the cradle? Sometime it doesn't go in exactly right and you need to take it out and put it back for it to work.

If you've tried several times, including reseating the visor, try doing a reset of the visor. With the reset pin of your stylus (or a paper clip) push the reset button hidden deep in the hole on the rear.

Also, did you delete the offending software from your visor?

Dear Uncle Roger

Thank you for your advise. First of all, I have already deleted the software in my palm. Secondly, I have also soft reset my palm but it still cannot be Sync. What can I do? Hard reset? Format the harddisc and reinstall the window 98? This is the last resort that I do not want to do.

Are you sure the offending PQA has been removed? I seem to recall someone saying there were some problems removing PQA's. You may want to try a warm reset (hold the UP button while resetting) and then confirm that the file ESPN.PGA is in fact removed from the handheld. Then do a regular reset and try to sync (you may want to reboot the desktop as well). Also, take a look in the HotSync log to see if there are any error messages that might help track the problem down.
