My batteries lasts for about 4 weeks under extensive use. However under Renewls the life of the battery just goes down after each charge. Anyway how long does your battery last?

I'm getting just about 3 weeks (19-23 days) out of my Duracell Ultra's... Admittedly, I change the batteries sooner than necessary because I hate to see the battery meter below 40%...

I think I could squeeze some more life from them but I get those 2 or 3 days where I have this incredible urge to download and HotSync ton's of software. I've learned that nothing drains the batteries faster than 3 or 4 consecutive USB sync's (ok... maybe IR, but I hardly ever beam anything).

According to Blue Moon, I'm averaging 1.6 weeks between battery changes (7 so far with BM keeping track of things). I do read alot of ebooks, and I'm sure the GoType is not helping things. Also, the Backup Module has made a notable impact on battery life (and the 8MB flash module to a lesser extent). When I get the more power hungry Springboard modules, I'm going to have to execute on my intentions to add rechargeables to my Visor arsenal . . .

I totally agree that sync 3 or 4 times in a row really does damage on the battery. However I also noticed that the battery indicator would sometimes go down then up. Today I noticed my batteries were down to 49% and later I noticed it was up to 53%, weird.

My battery meter is all over the place. Two days ago it was at almost 25%, and now its near 80%. I'm using the meter that came with the Visor, and Duracell ultra's. I'm wondering if the batteries are to be blamed or the meter.

Cool

According to the Runtime app, I'm getting an average of barely 10 days out of my Duracell Ultras.
Of course I hotsynch with AvantGo every day, and I use the Visor heavily.

I use Runtime to check my battery life. I find it more useful to compare "on time" as opposed to number of days as people's usage varies heavily. With NiMH batteries I get between 11 and 12 hours of use. With normal Alkaline, I get around 17 to 20 hours of use. YMMV. I do tend to do a lot of syncing, as a minimum, 3 times a day.

I get between 10-12 hours of battery life out of my NiMH. This includes speeding up my @hand reader with Afterburner, which is my most used program, along with an 8meg module inserted. I synch usually one time per day, sometimes every other day.

I went my first 2 weeks with the original set of batteries. Of course this was very heavy use of my new toy, but it looks like heavy use will continue. Is any particular battery better than another?

With pretty heavy use I got 4 weeks out of my Energizer Advanced formula batteries. I probably didn't sync more than 3 times a week though.

I got my Visor a week and a half ago, and the batteries are already down to 36% (according to Launcher III). I noticed a little slowdown as the batteries have dwindled--is this normal? I've also started getting fatal errors now that the batteries are a bit drained.

Question, when do you guys start replacing the batteries? When it hits single digit or even earlier?

Wink

I usually get 12 days outta mine. Max so far has been 19... Think that was when I was playing Planescape Torment instead of reading The Count of Monte Cristo on my VDx....

They did say something about not using anything but Alkaline.

I have those AWESOME Panasonic Plus's still in the VDx and they are still above 50%. I have had my VDx for approx. 7 days and have been running the following:

Mobipocket.com
Games
MobileDB
ebooks
and of course the PocketMonkey.. Oh yea!

I only got 7 days out of the original batteries. My second set were energizers, but they may have been fairly old, and I only got 7 days out of them too. Now I have energizer advanced formulas. I hope they last longer than the other ones. I do hotsync quite often, twice a day. That may drain them a bit.

Normally, my batteries (Alkaline, various brands) last about 2 weeks. I sync about once a day, sometimes every other day. I read e-texts on the Visor and use various apps, in all maybe about 2-3hrs/day. Oh, and AvantGo, of course...

A couple of days ago, in the morning my Visor would not turn on. Batteries totally drained, all data lost (Of course, I had a backup!). Thought I had a bad batch of batteries. I tried a different brand - same result. This game went on for a few days. Today the same: Played around with my Visor. Turned it off (battery level: 85%). 1 hour later: dead again!
Aaaaaarghh!

Another replacement unit is on the way (hopefully this one - my third in 3 months - works OK)

Sorry, seems to be a little off topic, by I desperately needed to vent a little...

I went through my first set in 2 weeks in my VDx. I found that I was showing a lot of people the features and that might have been more than I would normally use.

I found that when you use the backlight, it drains the power fast, but the battery gauge will come back up a bit. I think it is from the load on the battery. I've seen my gauge bounce +/-5% sometimes on heavy use (videogames).

Talking

2 weeks or so... with heavy use.
