Stowaway driver update
FYI, the previous driver was 1.5.1, I believe. 1.6 is available now. One of the things listed as being updated is: "Enables keyboard functionality for Games".

Tell us how it goes if you try it. Of course, it might be a bit embarrassing taking out the keyboard just for games... or rather, it would make it easier to look like you were really being productive.
Haven't tried to use it with games, but they added a "pointer" which is a lot like a mouse pointer that you can move around the screen. You press the ALT key, and use the arrows to move it around. You can select menu items, programs, etc.
As long as we're discussing the Stowaway, what is the fastest people are able to overclock programs with Afterburner and still use the keyboard?

Big thumbs up to Think Outside for continuing to improve an already great product!
Silly me, went looking at the targus website!

So far as I can tell, the mouse pointer is well neigh useless. Slow and awk...
Anybody finding it quick & easy???... seems like it's less work to pick up the stylus...
.. a new "feature": You have to have a stowaway S/N to activate it!

I'll second dietrichbohn's comment. Seems to be really slow and a bit too herky-jerky. It is a great start though.

You have to go to the keyboard app and then select the pointer pager (from the list at the top right) and then enable it.

Never mind...just remembered to RTFM!
If the pointer is slow, go into the driver and increase the repeat
rate. I haven't tried this yet since I don't have the new driver.
Can't download it 'till I get home in 2 weeks. LapTopHack has
the same pointer capability that works fine.

I cranked up both settings and saw a markedly improved pointer response on my VP. I can still make selections quicker with my stylus but at times (rough airline flights, trains) it is difficult to make selections with a stylus. I think that this will provide a useful alternative but you definitely have to set both the pointer acceleration and maximum speed sliders all the way to the right.

I just noticed another feature of the 1.6 driver... it remembers its last state (on/off) after a reset. The old driver would always re-enable itself. Now, if it's enabled, it will re-enable itself... if it's disabled, it stays that way. A nice feature for those of us who primarily keep the driver disabled except when we need it.

Mark - is there any benefit to keeping it disabled?
There is supposed to be support for "Games" it says... does this work yet? Am I supposed to enable something? Will it be able to map the hard keys (on the visor) to the arrow keys and two other keys on the keyboard? this would make games a lot easier... anyone get this or something similar to work?
