Question

Hi there everyone,

Help me!

From looking at the boards, it seems lots of people have had a good experience with the Xircom modem.

I just picked it up the other day and am trying to connect to AT&T.

Three main problems are occuring:

1. The dialer that I was given by AT&T is not working. It will dial and go through the handshake and then tell me it's "cancelling" with no reason why. This happens no matter what number I call (local, 1-800, and service numbers). What's wrong here?

2. So, I set up the VDX default dialer to connect to AT&T. I get connected (according to the modem and visor). However, when I try to use anything (AvantGo or MultiMail) both say they cannot find DNS server and/or to check your dns server. When I use ip addresses, I can get to my school email. AvantGo still gives me the same error: "Error 5453: Cannot find server or there was a DNS error." I don't see any options for DNS server in the default dialer/network perferences. What am I missing here?

3. Anybody have problems downloading the latest xircom software update? My springport came with version 1.09 and the latest is 1.22. I downloaded the prc file twice and both times it won't show up on the visor when I tried to sync it.

Thanks for any help!

Vital

So far i'm not impressed, I have AOL so apparently I can only get my email but I found their web site to be of very little value in terms of help and tech support was even worse.... the phone call was at my expense which would have been fine if the technician would have even attempted to help me out.
