Unhappy 16MB backup module discontinued ("never existed")

I've recently been shopping for a Visor Pro, and I wanted a backup module to go along with it. I looked on Handspring's website, and as far as I can tell there is no trace that this module ever existed! There's no reference in customer support, and it has been stricken from the complete list of springboard modules. I know they're phasing out the Visor line, but this is real sneaky.

I don't understand why this particular module would be removed from the list, while many other discontinued ones remain.

The 16MB flash Springboard wasn't actually a Handspring product. It was made by Hagiwara. I think it WAS on the Handspring website for a while, though.

Read my post again. I'm not talking about the flash module. Handspring did indeed produce a backup module for the Pro, which had the capacity of 16mb to accomodate the increased memory of the Pro. Since it's no longer on the Handspring website, check this out.

Mike Sth's signature line says it best: "Stupid Handspring!"

I can say for a fact that there are Handspring branded 16mb backup modules out there.

I bought two at the local Franklin Covey store several months back. They were on clearance, and I figured they'd make me a few bucks.

I sold one, and have misplaced the other. Hopefully it didn't get left behind when I was canned from my old job.

That's right...and the moment you do find it, please contact me.

Sorry, ragamuffin. It was one of those days. I saw "16MB" and thought "Flash springboard," and that's what stuck in my head. I don't specifically remember a 16MB backup module (I don't doubt its existence, though)--but I do remember people asking about whether one would be available when the Pro came out.

Thumbs up They exist

They do exist. I own a Handspring 16MB Backup Module, version 1.3, copyright 2001. I use it several times a week to back up my Visor Prism (upgraded to 16mb RAM by Tony Rudenko at http://www.palmpilotupgrade.com/) several times a week.

It has saved me many a time.

Thanks for the confirmation people. Just a point of clarification: By "never existed" I didnt' mean that they truly never existed but only that Handspring would have you believe they never did by the module's absence from their list.
