Homemade Screen Protectors

I bought the Writeright screen protectors (anti-glare, non-color) version, but I didn't like the texture, and under certain light conditions they appeared to have 'bubbles.' Not to mention, they were expensive. What materials are best for screen protectors? I've heard of sheet vinyl, sheet protectors, and transparencies (which I have tried as well). I assume there are pros and cons for each one, but which seems to have the best clarity, scratch resistance, cost, etc. Also, if there are any low-cost ready made alternatives, I may be willing to look into them, too.

Thanks,

BlueCNR

I just use transparencies. They're cheap, and they protect the screen. They do scratch easily, but the whole point is to protect the screen. I scratch them up pretty good over a few months. It doesn't look that great, but the scratches don't bother me at all.

Remember the whole point is to protect the original screen. I've had my Visor for over a year now and the screen is still perfect!

I got a yard of vinyl from Wal-Mart. I cut them to fit and apply with
a fine mist of water and squeegie it out with the card that first
came with my WriteRights. The vinyl has a smooth and cushiony feel.
I change them about everyother month.
