The new beamsync software which will add IR sync capability to your Visor ... FOR FREE!

Download both this zip file and the irenhanc.zip from Palm and install the 3 files:

beamsync.prc
SerialIrPnl.prc iirenhance)
SerIrCommLib.prc (irenhance)

You will now see BeamSync in your palm preferences. You have to switch it off if you want to use the USB cradle for hotsyncing.

ENJOY!!

Thumbs up

Thanks for the link. I'm going to try it out later (but not before a backup - you can never be too careful).

Later,

This Hacker Dude-san really puts together some nice software and also some really neat hardware stuff, but I wish he had a English translation page as well.....

After installing the BeamSync, I found that it actually updates the internal IR library, which is needed if you want to exchange data with a Nokia 6150 phone.
Try Gfx2Nokia and Note2Nokia....and have fun

Question

Only thing is, can we get it working in win2k?
I get a message after about 2 seconds of hitting hotsync that the connection couldnt be established....

Unhappy

After getting nowhere with IRLink,I deleted it and installed BeamSync as above, but I still can't connect to my ISP via my Motorola Timeport. I just get the error message: "modem command error.Check modem prefs.(Ox 1105)"
I've tried all the various combinations of settings in modem prefs (ie not many options, just standard and custom modems appear)and I've tried various strings offered by my network's helpline.Tried with beam receive both on and off.Still no joy.
Can anyone shed some light? Am I missing something?
