Is Geodiscovery still alive?
Anybody here who knows what happens with geodiscovery? Are they in liquidation?
Or, has somebody bought a geode at their site last time?
Oliver
I think they are gone - too bad
Their webpage is still up.

Not Quite Gone...
Although they are functionally gone, they are not officially gone. They lost their financing in the spring and dumped their staff. The situation now is that the one or two people left are pursuing new financing and occasionally send an email that says things are looking very promising.
So, if they get financing, and if they can hire back the key people, they may be a viable company again. I am hanging on to my Geode. It works pretty well as is, and the development was progressing pretty well before the bottom fell out of the company. If they get their act together and get the MMC working, etc. it will be a pleasant surprise, but not one I am counting on.

Glad I didn't buy one. I almost did because their datasheet looked so good. Then I sent them an email asking a few questions and they said "well, that feature WILL be available in a few weeks". Several months later I asked them the same questions and got the EXACT same response. So I decided to pass on what looked like a nifty item.
The HandyGPS Pro looks pretty good but you have to store your maps on the Visor and I just don't have space. Guess I'll just get a stand alone GPS unit <sigh>
Thats it. Their data sheet is the best of all gps modules. Has anybody ever tried to access the mmc card with a tool like pidirekt or vfshelper?
and, has anybody experience with third party mapping software in europe? Or third party software in general?

I too heard that they are on the verge of death, how many other module companies have now closed its doors?
geodiscovery
Geodiscovery is still in business according to an
email received by a Beta test team member. Hope they come back since the GPS receiver is a winner.
