Unhappy My Platinum has amnesia

My Platinum crashed. After the system reset, it reverted to it's out of the box condition. All it's memory GONE!!!!! I feel like I am running on half a brain....or at least half the brain I normally use. Good thing my back up module hasn't been used in ages..... Anyone else feel lost in this situation?

All your memory is gone?..do you mean the date book and oem software? You didn't make that clear. Well (almost) all PDA's i know of use RAM as their memory. Random Access Memory is incredibly fast but it has one set back. If there is no power to it it loses all it's information the was stored on it. It is exactly the way your ram works in your computer. So but doind a hard reset and turning it to "the out of the box condition" to cleared the ram memory, like it was when it came out of the box. Only soft resets will maintain your memory.

I feel your pain - I've had to do the hard reset on my VPL a couple times (errant programs) and it's not fun.

But, if you HotSync it, it will come back. (For the most part)

If I had to do the hard reset, I could live with that. My pain would be their, but managable. This was an unexpected hard reset. It's like dealing with a sudden illness..... What made matters worse is the hot sync to retore my plat's memory last night resulted in a fatal exception during the restoration of the databases...Now I have to reload all my 3rd party stuff..... BOO HOO
