IMAP and SMS functionality are featured in the new version.

I went to their web site, but couldn't find the info.

Does it automatically checks for email, or do you need to start the process?

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

I'm not sure I'd call it IMAP functionality... that's going a bit far for something that seems to view IMAP as little more than just a different name for POP3.

Where's the proper support for downloading headers only via IMAP? Or for retrieving a list of remote mailboxes on the server, and letting you check that's in them - or even, heaven forbid, move a message to a remote folder?

Where are the options for handling attachments - ie leave on server, and so on - that you find in a real IMAP client?

If I wanted POP3, that's what I'd be using. I switched to IMAP for the extra features, but I've not yet found Palm client that offers much at all.

I might be a little more kindly disposed towards Iambic if it could actually get further than reading through 1.35k of message headers and then saying 'read error.'

Pretty poor show, frankly.

Anyone got a better suggestion for IMAP?

The only Palm e-mail client that I've ever known to support IMAP is MultiMailPRO. It isn't without it's own problems and bugs-that-never-seem-to-get-fixed-or-even-acknowledged (especially since they were bought by Palm) but at least it works. I was hopeful when I heard Iambic Mail was supporting IMAP, but from what you report I guess I got my hopes up for nothing.
