Has anyone seen or used a Yak Pak? Yak Pak is a bag manufacturing company based in Brooklyn, NY, selling backs, packs, purses, etc, to the trendy crowd. I was considering getting one of these to carry my Visor, Rio, cellphone, and some other gear, while I'm trekking about.

If anyone has opinions about these, please let me know. In particular I was looking at the Hands-Free Tech Sling on this page:

as part of the urban sprawl known as nyc, i can tell you with some accuracy that yak-paks are about three days ago here, as far as what the kids are wearing... but, evn tho' they're out, they make great ultra-hip-super-urban-gear, and it's all very high quality. if you like the look of it, i say go, you'll have a good piece of merchandise.

(as for what is in right now for the urban-chic? mega fanny packs--like the kind you g hiking or mountaineering with, with lots of pockets, straps, etc, worn strapped diagonally across the back instead of at the hips.)

Let's see . . . casual, and holds Visor, cell phone, mp3 player and misc stuff. Sounds like the old standards would be your best bet, a day pack or a fanny pack. You also might want to check into some of the specialty camera bags; they have the advantage of being designed to be worn on your front-side (for the anti-theft conscious).

Yeah. Most fanny packs tend to be too large, but they do come in a variety of sizes. To elaborate alittle on my specialty pack suggestion: try a photography or backpacking gear catalog (or magazine). You'll be amazed at the variety of bags that they offer, and the even more vaired ways of slinging the bags. The downside is that the specialty bags are more expensive.
