-- Quick stupid question re 8meg module (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=14670)
If you select "format module" within file mover, what happens? I presume all data on the module is lost and the module is just wiped clean, similar to formating a hard drive. Is this correct?
I've had some data dissapear from the module according to the file mover data list, but there was no memory freed up on the module. Very strange. Don't know what to do.
Yes, if you select format, it erases all data on the module. Just make sure you're formatting external not internal! eek!
What kind of data disappeared?
Also, the module will accept some applications and others won't work (you just have to experiment with it). Do a backup first!
Hope this helps,

8meg module data dissapearance
The data I lost was a Bdicty database (lexicon) of about 600k. I had several of them on the module and have been using them for quite a long while. I had a really weird crash today and just one of the Bdicty lexicons doesn't show up on the module anymore, BUT I did not gain any memory on the module, implying that something is still there, just invisible. Also weird was the fact that I gained 1meg of memory on my VDx yet I can't seem to find anything missing from its memory!
I think it might be time for a good visor cleaning and just do a hard reset and reinstall everything. Its been running for 2 years now and I'm sure its gathered a lot of "clutter" in there. Just don't look forward to taking a day to do all that (if I can find a free day).
