For whatever reason, I couldn't sync at work today(Win2k and USB). Soft reset didn't help. Deleting and reloading USB drivers didn't help.

So I backed up into my Backup Module and did a hard reset.

For whatever reason, I was able to sync with my VDX in a "fresh-out-of-the-box" state.

BackupBuddy successfuly reinstalled everything I had, but the HotSync log told me that all my notepad categories (except the stock ones) had been deleted! (Odd...)

So I restored from the BackupModule. Of course, the note pad categories that were there before all this started were intact. So I tried to sync again and was able to.

This time the only thing that was updated during the sync was a few AvantGo pages - exactly what I wanted - and the note pad categories were not lost.

Moral of story: without the Backup Module I would have had to re-categorize a mess of memos. Of course, without BackupBuddy, I might not have lost the categories to start with!
