Question

Just purchased my handspring and I love it.
What is considered the best stylus to use in place of the plastic one that comes with the handspring? Let me know what you use and why!

Thanks

Cool

I would have to go with the PDAPanache Custom Deluxe. It's heavy enough to let you know it's there, but still fits in the silo. Also, it comes with a built in reset pin... Check it out at pdapanache.com. Check some of the old threads for all the details. Good luck...

The Handspring deluxe styluses are quite nice, and there have been reports of people splitting their silos with third-party styluses, so I'd stick with that one.

I have a GVD that came with the deluxe style stylus. It was replacing a palm IIIe. I use the Pilot Pentopia 2+1 stylus for most of my writing, but I also ordered a pda panache cusotm stylus just on general principles.

Thumbs up

The Platinum Exec multipoint stylus/pen/pencil is really nice. Of course, it doesn't fit in your silo, but it ain't supposed to.

For something that Does fit in your silo, the handspring deluxe styli are quite nice, and you can usually pick one up off ebay for less than 10 bucks (depending on the color you want sometimes less than 5) and not have to buy the full 5 pack.

Well, I just got my Panache Custom Deluxe this morning (Thanks for the quick shipping VisorCentral!) and I love the way it feels in my hand.

It has a great weight to it. I like the fact that it is a tiny bit longer than the Handspring stylus. It just makes it feel more like a pen.

The orange tip is kinda big.....but not really a problem. But I am not sure why they used such an ugly (no offense to Orange owners) color.

The orange tip is actually a great idea. It shows that you are indeed about to use a stylus and not a pen to write on your visor.

I just received the Handspring Deluxe styli...I have to admit, they are VERY nice and make that plastic toothpick look like crap. They really should be including these with the actual visors.

Cool

Are the Handspring Deluxe Styli likely to scratch the screen like the stock stylus did? With all the bad press about the stock ones, I've been hesitant to use another stylus made by Handspring.

I scratched my first screen using the plastic stylus. This was with a perfectly smooth tip, so I think it may have more to do with dust scratching the screen when I write on it more than the stylus iteself.

Invest in WriteRights or another type of screen protector...it's a small investment to protect your screen.

I am very impressed with the PDA Panache. Be sure to replace your stock stylus ASAP. That's how I got the big scratches on my screen. You will NOT believe how much better and smoother a PDA Panache is compared to the stock stylus.
