Question

OK - I have read all the posts in regards to the palm desktop 4.0 install. I have copied the dll files, etc. but whenever I try to hotsync, my computer reboots. I have tried everything, and am looking for some advice!

Thanks in advance for your help!

PS - I'm running windows 2000, with a VDX.

help!

Visorking -

Tried your advice - but it didn't work... sort of at a dead-end here - is there anything else I can try? What would cause the usb to reboot the machine like that?

Thanks again in advance for any help - or anyone else out there - I appreciate it!!!

help - part 2

I tried switching the usb ports that the cradle is plugged into, and was able to get the computer to recoginize the usb device, but i get this message at the end of the New Device Wizard:

"Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard"

"USB Device"

"An error occured during the installation of this device. This installation failed because a function driver was not specified for this device install."

"To close this wizard, click Finish" Finish is the only button not grayed out...

help? Which driver is it referring to?

Thanks again!

Welp, since I started this post, seems appropriate for me to close it. Just got off the phone with Handspring tech support, and am back in the saddle! Fantastic service. I e-mailed them my questions, and had two replys within a day! The final phone call to them was answered within a couple of mintues, and the problem is solved.

For all of you out there with Win 2000, be sure to go to the handspring website and download their new Palm Desktop 3.1 - this does the trick...

Glad I have a quality product from a quality company!
