Screen Protectors
Well, I did it! After four months of using my Visor Platinum, carefully trying to avoid making scratches on the screen I managed to put a beauty across it last night! I had, of course, planned to get screen protectors, but never did. But, so be it...What are the choices available? What are the benefits of the various options? Who sells these things? Any tips will be appreciated

You can get Write Right covers at most palm suppliers, also on the internet. These covers are expensive, but they work. Some people use a sheet of overhead projector film instead. I prefer the Write Rights. I have actually been using the same WR cover for 4 months and it still works fine, even though they say they are only good for a month or two.

I use the WriteRight's as well. I also get several months use out of one, as opposed to just one month.
They are kind of expensive, $24.99 for 12. But, to me, it is worth it.

This topic gets discussed ad infinitum in many other messages. Just search through the boards for screen protectors and you'll probably get a wealth of previous discussion.
that said, i use clear plastic vinyl that i bought at a fabric store for $0.69/yd. i have a lifetime supply of screen protectors that i can cut out into any shape to match whatever PDAs i end up owning. Fairly easy to apply, extremely durable and probably won't ever need replacing once you put it on. they do tend to collect dust though, but all you need to do is wipe off gently and your screen is clean again.

And IF you decide to use WriteRights, do NOT order them directly from Fellows or Concept Kitchen...they are typically 30-50% more expensive than going through any of their distributors (Targer, Buy.com, outpost.com, etc...)

Thanks to eveyone for all that good advice. Now it's up to me to choose.

By the way, part of the problem of screen scratches is the stylus. The relatively soft nylon (or whatever) tips on the Visor stylii can catch grit which causes the scratches. I am sure this is what happened to me. What stylus replacements have been used which provide a harder, smoother point which won't catch any grit?
