One thing though, is that they're not updated very often. In my area, only 3 gas stations out of the 13 have the prices listed.

That is where the "spotters" come in. The more spotters you have the more gas stations that will be available, and the more updated the site will be. I also point the site out to all of my friends and family (most live locally) so they can enjoy the benifits and help contribute as well.

In my area, I can only find 1 or 2 stations that are updated by someone besides me, but I try to keep up all of the stations along my commute whenever there is a price change.

The whole point is, the more people contribute, the better the site will be for everyone. Just like the VC Discussion boards, if only a few people ever post, people won't come back.
