My friend in Germany has a IBM Workpad (same as Palm III). In one of the IT magazines he followed a blueprint to doctor his cradle and permit it to charge the batteries while still in the unit, like the IIIx, I think. The cradles are basically the same, just one connection is missing or something like that.

Anyone take their cradle apart to see if some of the pins are free and the design plans for recharging on-board?

If you look in the Handspring development specs, you can find the pinout for the cradle... you're looking for the one called VDOCK.

However, I'm pretty sure current Visors don't do anything with this pin, it is simply passed through to the Springboard slot for recharging Springboard batteries.
