-- Which keyboard and why? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=3435)
What keyboard does eveyone plan on buying and why? The two main ones are the GoType! Pro and Stowaway ones!
I'm going to buy the folding stowaway as soon as I can. I'm a medical student and plan on using it to write my histories and physicals, and then beam them to the nearest printer. The Gotype is just pocket unfriendly. I'm in a constant quest to minimize the amount of stuff I'm carrying in order to stay mobile.
I know what you mean but GoType! has a awesome carry case that holds the Visor (Palm), the keyboard, and there is a seperate pocket for backup module, six pack, etc.!! That is probably what I will get.
I'll be getting the GoType. I used it on my old Palm Pro, and it was very sturdy. The Stowaway looks like something I would break within a few months.
Plus, the GoType has the USB port on the back, so I can sync the Visor while in the keyboard.
My dream setup is the GoType with a wireless modem Springboard. Who needs a laptop?

That USB port is a BIG advantage but I don't have Windows 98. I probably should so I can use this to the full advantage. I just haven't seen the need to.
I can't wait to get my hands on the Stowaway to review, but I found a case that can hold the Visor and the Stowaway -- the RhinoSkin RhinoPak 3000. If you want to carry them both, it is a good case for it.
We should have my review of the RP3000 up today or tomorrow.

I plan on getting the Happy Hacker cradle when it is available for the Visor. It will let me attach my Visor to any standard PS/2 compatible.

I may even purchase the Happy Hacking Lite keybord. It looks like it is half the size of a regular 101 key keyboard and still maintains standard keyboard spacing (I tried a GoType! keyboard once but found the keys to closely spaced for me).
The Happy Hacker looks neat... here's a thought, though...
Modify the Visor cradle by adding a PS/2 connector for a standard keyboard. The only problem with this is where would one get a driver for a standard keyboard??? Any crack programmers out there up to the challenge?
In any event, the StowAway catches my eye because of the form-factor. They will probably offer the USB port as well (they'd be missing a big opportunity if the don't).

From what I saw of the Stowaway, it doesn't attach to your PC at all. It connects to your Visor via the connector at the base.
I'm leaning toward the Stowaway, just because it's a bigger keyboard when it's spread out. I'd love to hear from anyone who actually gets to use one.
