Ok, i got my modem and I know how to use it in the usa...
anybody out there have any experience abroad??

I have earthlink so they have local Italy #'s...
this is what i have so far

in network control panel i put in local access # for italy..
but check phone card in panel, then put in italy access # (att cards international 7 digit #) then
my card # ....then do I also stick my att pin # at the end??

if this works im patting myself on the back!

any other info that i might need.??

I don't know the answer, but wonder if you managed to connect. I use Compuserve as an ISP and have done so in Holland and France, but I don't have to mess around with ATT cards, etc. If you did manage please let us all know what it took.

I used my Thinmodem in Ireland and ended up using the "Use calling card" entry. If memory serves me right, the numbers (and pauses) in this field are entered after the numbers and pauses in the "Phone #" field. I simply figured out what numbers I had to dial to get a connection, entered as many as possible in the first field (Phone #) and then entered the rest in the second field (Use calling card).

YMMV
