-- Chameleon stylus for visor (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10045)

anybody have this. Does it really fit well in the visor stylus slot?

Funny you should mention this, I just bought one a couple hours ago. It fits nicely into the slot, but it's a little awkward to get back out. You might be better off with the Visor Pen Stylus. It's shaped like the normal Visor stylus, with the part at the top that sticks out so it's easier to pull out.

UPDATE: Nevermind. The reset pin on the Chameleon isn't long enough to actually hit the reset button inside the VDX, making it useless. They don't mention on Handspring's site if their stylus has a reset pin, but I can't imagine it wouldn't. Either way, unless you make a habit of carrying a paper clip with you, I wouldn't bother with the Chameleon.

There are two models of the Chameleon. Did you get the one that says it's for the Visor? The ones made for the palm are a tight fit. I've seen the ones for the Visor at CompUSA and they are shaped like regular Visor stylus and have an adjustable tension on the spring loaded tip. The reset pin is designed to be used with the Visor. It sounds like you got one for the Palms.

Cool

The pen stylus does have a reset pin (on the other end from the standard deluxe stylus to make way for the pen tip), and it's a handy little gizmo... I don't know that it's quite worth $13.00, but I had the store credit at Fry's... and when I have store credit at Fry's all bets are off.

I don't think I know what the Chameleon Visor is, and I can't find a link on the Accessories page. Anyone have a link to this product?

The Chameleon is from Pentopia.

I looked at all the models on their website. None of them mention Visor. Can you provide a link?

It doesn't seem to be available on Pentopia's site, but CompUSA has it in their database. The model number is T11FV.

I didn't see a Chameleon for the Visor at the store, but if they do have one, go for it.

After following the link in MarkEagle's last post and checking to see that my local CompUSA had them in stock, I went and got one!

The package says Chameleon T11FV - "For Visor!" and it is.

It's quite cool! Fits in the silo fine, comes out fine, has a Visor-compatible reset pen (I tested it) the ink is refillable and the spring tension on the tip (the shock-absorber, as it were) is even adjustable!

I can't say a whole lot for its looks - It's grey metal, the caps on both ends are clear and the stylus point is blue.

But it is 100% compatible!

3 things confuse me:
- why isn't it on their website?
- why doesn't their website list an email address?
- why would Handspring be insane enough to think people would buy a $13 non-refillable pen stylus?

Thanks to everyone for letting me know that the Visor version was available. I bought a Palm version several months ago (from a FranklinCovey store) and returned it the same day when I found out it didn't work!
