I just purchased a Stowaway keyboard from the Targus site! I was under the impression that it wouldn't be available until mid-April, but there it is at:
http://208.184.35.140/default_produ...&sku=PA800U

I have my confirmation in hand. FINALLY!

...must control Green-Envy monster...

There, that's better. Makes me feel a little like David Banner/Incredible Hulk! Which reminds me, that I sat next to Lou Ferigno (spelling is correct, I hope) on a plane to Denver one time. Wasn't much of a conversationalist.

I ordered mine, also, but the site doesn't say that they are actually shipping them. So we'll see how long it takes to come.

Okay I gave in and I ordered one too. HOWEVER, Why does it say the following: "This receipt of order does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell" What the heck>?? Also, My CC expires in 2002 which I specified and on the receipt, it changed it to 2000... SEE now I'm worried that they were just testing the system but we'll see. I have an order number and everything but those two things sorta bother me.

I thought the "does not constitute" line was a little whacked too, although my credit card, which also expires in 2002, still said 2002 on the receipt.

The e-mail reply I got said
"Thank you for shopping at BuyTargus.com on 3/31/00 8:32:47 AM. Your order number ######### has been confirmed and sent to our warehouse for processing."

Will it be shipped? I hope so. I don't imagine they would have sent the e-mail above if they were just testing the system. Of course, it doesn't necessarily mean they have 'em in stock....

Well, the Targus page where you click buy now still says mid-April. I called the customer order number and they told me that is just preorders. They are still set for mid-april.

I also ordered one, but it never gave a confirmation of availablity. I called the customer service number and he told me it would be on back order for 2-4 weeks.

Alright, I called CS at Targus.. (hold for 1 min!) and they said they were able to bill my card just fine.. apparently they bill NOW and ship later! Also, the guy I spoke with said that it would be shipped to me in at least two weeks probably 2.. Thank goodness we're at the beginning of the list of soon to be LONG list of preorders!!

Is it just me, or is the recommended case for the Stowaway kind of on the pricey side? (as referred to in the Visor central article)

$59.99????? The GoType! case is $19.99!! And it will also hold the visor. If Targus is going to charge $60 for the case that will carry the Visor and the Stowaway in one, they're just nuts!! They can just forget it!

I plan on getting the Stowaway, but if they continue to charge more for everything they sell, I don't think they're going to last long.

I'm in on a preorder too. I'm planning to get either get a second pouch (http://www.thepouch.com/) or a landware Burro Pak. I already use a pouch for my Visor and appreciate it's $19.95 price tag. The back pocket holds my pager and a spare set of batteries and the rear clip is very solid.

Question

Where can I find a Landware Burro Pak?

Landware's seems to be down but, there is a Gadgeteer review at:
http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/burropakpilot-review.html

Anyone familiar with this case?

I was at Target tonight and noticed that there is a brand of CD carrying cases that look almost identical to the burro-pak in that link. So i started checking the dimensions and sure enough, not only is there enough space for the stowaway and the visor, but for about 2 or 3 modules too!

Just got this e-mail from Targus:

BuyTargus.com is back ordered.

Once the product is available, we will ship your product out per your
order instructions. If you wish to cancel this item, please contact our
customer service department by replying to this e-mail at
[email protected] or contact us by phone at 1-877-819-8572, M-F

The wait commences. Sigh.
