What's your opinion?

This Thanksgiving, my Visor Edge was destroyed. I was able to back things into my Visor Platinum, but am looking for a thinner alternative. Should I get another Edge? go with a Palm M500 or what? any thoughts?

Seems like, if you liked your Edge, this would be a good time to get one of the $129.00 refurbs.

Pretty hard to find anything else comparable. And, who knows, HS may bring them back again. They seem to do those kinds of things (e.g. the Plat was gone and now is back??)

E-Bay too for the Edge

If you spend some time looking you can get a nearly new Edge for about 80-100 on E-Bay.

Not to be a Handspring-hater, but if you never use Springboards and never will have the desire to, perhaps a m500 would serve well.

I got the chance to use a Palm Vx several times and they're awesome. Thin (lots thinner than my Neo), big screen, and a stylus silo that I can appreciate.

In my mind there isn't a whole lot of difference between an Edge and a Vx or a m500, other than the springboard slot.

Quite frankly I am recommending an m500-series because Handspring is completely dropping Visor, Springboard, and any developments for these things.

My judgement is if MadJokes is not relying on any Springboards, which I assumed he didn't (bad assumption on my part), he may want to get a PDA that someone will still support and issue upgrades for.

There isn't a great price difference: $129 for a reconditioned Edge or $149 for a new m500 (yes they're on the website click here )

i LOVE my edge, but if i had to repla it i'd probably go the m500 route for many of the reasons mentioned above in cml's post plus doesn't the m500 have an SD slot? the 8mb onthe edge is the ONLY problem i have.

this from an edge lover, but an even greater realist.

Thanks for taking the time to share your views...I still don't know which to get...I went to best buy as the were advertising a new Edge for $99 but they were sold out. Any views on the Treo 90?
Thanks again for all the great info...I have to admit I'm still reluctant to go over to Palm...but they do have new products and peripherals. I understand thr Treo 90 uses the M500(Palm) expansion cards. Still Unsure but more enlightened.
