What about impact protection for Visor Phone

I'm planning on buying a new case to accomodate my new Visor Phone which is permanently attached to my Prism.

Both the E&B Slipper Visor and the Veja case both look functional and have good styling. The one from Case Tech ( http://www.case-tech.com/products/207-VISORPHONE.html ) seems it would provide by far the best protection but its got all the style of a brick and Im unsure about the usability of it.

I dont like the colors of the Veja case (I'd end up dying the tan to black, it looks too..... effeminate) and I'd have to modify it to accomodate the travel charger. Its also a lot more expensive.

As far as looks/usability go if the E&B provides good impact protection I'll go with it, it simply costs less.

Has anybody used all three of these? What did you think of them.

Any thoughts?

There's always the Handspring Sport Case for VP.

I have the EB for my VDX/VP. It's a good case, except:

1. to get the holes to line up, I have to stuff something (rolled up paper, a small dowel, etc) into the case at the bottom (near the HotSync conector)

2. (more relevant to your question) it's got OK impact protection for being just leather.

3. The flip lid is too flexible and can press on the screen (annoying when I'm talking on the phone and it accidentally presses a phone button.)

I haven't found anything better than EB yet.

UPDATE: I just found this from pdaskins. I'd recommend getting the internal sleeve too, as it eliminates the need to stick "Velcro" on the Visor.

After thinking about it I finally went for functionality over looks and bought the case-tech, it might not be as pretty, but it looks like it'll be just about bulletproof.

Besides, it was only about $44.00 US including shipping, the website is Canadian and the prices are in Canadian dollars.

Maast: Will you please post your thoughts about the Casetech case once you get it? I am going through the same Casetech/E&B/Vaja deliberations as you. Like you, I am most concerned about impact protection, and the CaseTech looks like it fits the bill, but I have these concerns:

--I would like my unit in its case to fit in an inside suit jacket pocket. Is there any hope of that happening with the CaseTech case?

--From the pictures in the-Gadgeteer.com review, it appears that in the Prism version, the "yoke" that holds the Prism in the case covers up the microphone holes! Could that really be?

--Did you order the belt clip version? How much width does the belt clip add to the case? --for those days when I dont wear a suit

--One last thing - it can't be so protective that it completely mufffles the alarm! The alarm on my Prism is low enough as it is!

Thanks a lot for your input,
--Charlie
