-- I am pissed with my Rhodiana belt clip! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=3719)
Let me start by saying I love the case, I find it easy to use, snug fit, nice protection, I like the elastic holding straps, etc.. blah blah.
The belt clip however is awful. I got one of those snap clips.
First, some genius decided that the belt clip did not need to be hook shapped to latch under the belt, but is instead L shapped, so that it goes around the belt, but slides back off the belt without much effort. If I grab the unit, and shake it around gently, as might happen if I were running or something, it slides right off my belt.
Second, the locking mechanism becomes jammed at a moment's notice. If I don't remove it from the snap lock with a very delicate touch, then the latch becomes jammed inside the clip unit. I can unjam it taking it off and carefully fiddling inside it with a key or something similar, but it is a pain in the ass!
Anyone have similar experieces?
That's strange. Rhodiana is my favorite beltclip case because of it's clip being easy to use and have never had it jam on me.

I've had my Rhodiana about 3 weeks now, and it is by far the base PDA case I've ever owned. I did have a few issues with the belt clip early on, however. The 2nd day I had it, the unit wouldn't lock into place and would detach from the belt clip quite easily. Upon examining the clip, I noticed that you could bend a peice of metal on the inside of the clip to fix the problem, and now it fits snugly and locks into place with no trouble.
As always, your milage may vary.

Mike:
I think you have a) a potentially defective clip and b) too wide a belt.
Like James, I've never had a problem w/ the mechanism of the clip. When it works properly, it really is quite elegant.
And as for slipping off the belt- I have a belt that's just a little wide, and I've found that the clip can slip. So I don't use that belt- I use my narrower one that the clip reaches fully around and clasps quite securely.
I suggest contacting Rhodiana about the clip mechanism.

My belt is narrow enough, and the clip does get all the way around. It's just that since the clip does not hook at the end, it doesn't really end up as secure it could. My pager has a hook on the piece that goes behind the belt, so even if the clip comes open, the hook will still likely keep it on the belt. I guess this is just my tastes in belt clips, but it seems logical to me.
My real beef is the locking mechanism becoming jammed. What happened to Hellion_Prime is exactly what is happening to me, but to me it happens every second time I take the visor out. I will probably call Rhodiana on this as it can't be normal.
Looks like I spoke too soon.
I was getting in a co-workers car after lunch today, and my case jumped right off the belt. I apparently caught it on his seat, which is a first as it has never happened with this case in any other car I've gotten in and out of. The clip seperated into two parts, and I could not reassemble them. I contacted Rhodiana as soon as I got back to work, and they kindly shipped me a replacement which should arrive day after tommrrow. I think I'll look around locally to see if any made for cell phones will fit just to have another spare.
All in all an irksome experience, but I still like the case. =)

No problems here! I use the case usually on the weekends when I'm walking around and driving a lot, so the clip gets put through the paces, but it works like a charm.
had the same problem with the clip, called Rhodiana and they shipped me a replacement, asking only that I send the defective one back...the new one looks the same but I know how to fix it now so ....
Just called to complain about my clip. They started byt saying that I should send them the clip and they would replace it. I informed them that I did not want to be a week or so without a clip, and I didnot want to pay postage, so they should me the new one, and send a pre-paid postage box to send the old one back, and they agreed to that. Hopefully the next one will be better.
