-- Screen protector? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13063)

Question

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but are there any clear screen protectors for the VDx? I know the Fellowes makes them and I bought a pack designed for the Palm Vx, but it won't fit. Does anybody know if I should buy the screen protector for the other one and cut it to size, or does anyone make it specifically for the VDx? Thanks...

Get the ones made for the Palm IIIc. They're clear and will fit fine on the Visor Deluxe.

This has been mentioned before...but why not?

I used to use the WriteRights for the Visor. Blurry. I just ran out and bought Avery self-laminating sheets from Office Max (~$6) and cut them for the screen myself. The pack has 10 9x12 sheets and each will yield at least 6-9 screen protectors per sheet.

Good luck!

If you can deal with the fact this is a website for POCKET PC <sic> (WinCE) handhelds, there is a great template you can download and use when making your own screen protector:

http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/Gene...enProtector.htm

specifically: http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/Gene...torTemplate.doc

the Visor template is on the first page.

Exclamation get flex-o-glass!

Don't waste your money on write-rights or any other supplies. Buy a sheet of Warp's flex-o-glass (4 mil thick) and cut it to fit the Visor. It's available at most hardware stores (in rolls). They'll make you buy a foot of it, but at 99 cents/foot, this is not an issue. Flex-o-glass, when applied to the VDX screen, delivers same clarity as the screen w/o a protector.

I used a single slice of Warp's flex-o-glass on my Palm IIIx for one full year and did not need to replace it. I took out my 1 foot roll again to apply a protector to my VDX last month and I'm good to go (I actually could have used the OLD protector from my IIIx but decided to go ahead and cut the proper size for the VDX). The flex-o-glass adheres via static so no sticky stuff. You end up with a less slippery, grip-glide action with the stylus after the flex-o-glass is on.

Measure the Visor screen across and down, then cut a piece of flex-o-glass slightly smaller width and height-wise. Clean Visor screen with soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust (don't apply liquids to screen!), clean flex-o-glass with warm soapy water to remove dust, dry it, and apply by rolling from top to bottom. Air bubbles will be there, but you can either work them out, or do what I do and wait a couple of weeks for most bubbles to disappear on their own.

Warp's is beautiful b/c it's crystal clear and you'll only need ONE PROTECTOR for the life of your PDA. That's pennies for a protector.

This stuff is used on greenhouse windows to block harmful UV rays. For more info:
