Just curious if anyone else noticed this, but on the Visor comparison page at the handspring website, they list the OS as being upgradeable via patches and/or springboard.... you think this is just PR hype to make their device sound better, or is handspring really going to offer OS updates via one of these avenues? Hopefully it is the latter because that was my one and only complaint about the visor (I bought one anyways after looking at the IIIxe's screen next to the Visor's ) and it would be great if they were really going to do that.

Mallen:

I saw that too and was wondering about it. I hope upgradeability is one of the things they have in store for us

BTW, any OS upgrade had better be via a patch or hardware chip replacement, not a Springboard.

I (and a few other people, I imagine) own Springboards that they would like to use along with their OS. And a multi-Springboard adapter a) probably wouldn't work and b) wouldn't fit in my Rhodiana.

I agree, it doesn't make any sense to make an OS upgrade a Springboard module. Turns it into a Palm V at that point!

Upgrading the OS through the Springboard can be good for adding features perhaps only that Springboard requires. Like adding the libraries that come in the VII's OS 3.2 in a Cell Phone module so that you could usa PQAs.
