Platinum Screen vs Handera

The main reason I would go for the Handera is if the screen is a lot better. Although the cost right now is much higher than VPL, the screen may be worth it.

Reading the plat screen is a joy -- and I don't have
the eyes I had as a kid anymore. I know there's been talk
of the Edge having a better backlight -- but I don't see it.
I have both a Plat and an Edge and I find the Plat's screen and backlight to be perfect for me. I use it as a "book light" { when I read in bed (e-books on the Plat -- of course)without bothering the wife.

Greyscale photos on Avantgo are clear and I simply don't see how it coule be too much better. A higher res and color screen could be an improvement -- of course -- but for functionality and reaasonable price -- I am thrilled with the screen.

I agree on the quality of the Platinum screen.

Unfortunately where all of the LCD Handspring devices fall flat is on the backlight. Somebody picked the wrong unit or the wrong component values.

The screen itself is beautiful. The backlight, however, is worthless except in total darkness.
