Hi there,
I was trying to hotsync my Visor Deluxe today and it would simply not work. I have an iMac 350, a Visor Deluxe and Palm Desktop 2.6.1.
The cradle is connected correctly and I even tried reinstalling Palm Desktop. Nothing works. The Hotsync progress constantly says �Preparing to synchronize�. I checked the HotSync Manager, it is enabled and the port is Handspring USB. I deleted the Hotsync preferences. I also tried starting with bare OS 9.04 with only the Palm extensions. What could the problem be? This is driving me crazy. I had similar problems a couple times before, but this is the worst. It drives me crazy.

I have a similar setup and have had similar problems. Besides trying VooDoo, see if there is anything in the "Files to Install" folder in your user folder. An unhappy app that doesn't have the filetype set correctly (or something like that) can stop the sync process altogether. This has worked for me. Also what about third party conduits? I hope Palm has the new Mac desktop and hotsync apps out soon, the Mac could really use a better piece of software e.g. the minute wait for the app to peruse the Backup folder.
Hope this helps...I personally prefer syncing with my Windows machine at work, and use Outlook for the Mac so I still have the same info available on my Mac. I backup with the Backup module, and feel like this works for me. I can't wait for an updated Mac desktop though.
