-- Visor Platinum in Swordfish (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=15894)

Posted by Matthew Nichols on 06-10-2001 03:14 AM:

I know people liek to hear when the Visor makes an appearance in a TV/Film and I'm pretty sure the movie Swordfish has one. I saw it today and theres a scene where Standley (Hugh Jackman) asks for a list of bank accounts and one of the henchman holds out a PDA, which I think was a Platinum. It was silver and I'm pretty sure I could see the power button (No modules in it though ).

Just thought I'd see if anyone else agrees/disagrees or is interested in this.

How was the moveie? Was it good?

I want to see swordfish pretty badly. Most of it was filmed in my hometown of Ventura(the scenes without the big LA buildings) Can't wait to see a humvee crash through a window in downtown Ventura hehe

I haven't seen "Swordfish", but I was watching "Inside Actor's Studio" last night on Bravo, and they had a 2-hour Robin Williams special. During one part, he was doing a routine from a child's perspective, and his "Silicon Valley child" was talking about his problems of his "hard drive locking up and not being able to sync with my Visor". Do you think he posts here?

I think quite a few famous people may be members here. Internet anonymity being what it is, this would be one of the few places a celeb could get called an idiot.

BTW, I am Spartacus.

It was okay, nothing spectacular. Hugh Jackman played his role very well, Travolta was okay, Halle Berry did practically nothign (And I must say her topless scene was dissapointing!). As for the plot, it was okay - raised some interesting questions in the area of terrorism. Overall it seemed lacking something, but it was worth the matinee price.

And unfortunately that is all that matters these days. That I got my $7 worth. Why can't people make movies that are captivating anymore. I don't just want to be entertained, I want to be enthralled, I want to be transported. I want a movie to grab me by the cahones and take me a for a 2-hour ride.

oh, hang on, I was thinking about a date with Shannon Elizabeth.

Moveis today is all about making money at the box office. All you need is a big time actor and a so-so plaot. The quailty moveis are those that are forgotten in the Indie theaters.

I'm not surprised. With the way she's been whoring it in every forum she can, it seems just a ploy to pull in ticket sales.

Antitrust has 2 Visors DLX

On the topic of Visors in movies, i just watched Antitrust, and my vdlx shows up in the movie (a blue one), and then later on another visor.

Visor's kick ass, and the world knows it! (Have u seen any Pilots in a movie?)

Yes. I think there was one in "Charlie's Angels", Jennifer Lopez had a Palm V in "The Wedding Planner", and there was even a Palm III in a episode of "Law & Order" last year. Don't EVEN get me started on the Jornada Denise Richards had in "The World is Not Enough".

Hey, how about the color device Lara Croft was sporting? It looked like it had PDA and GPS functions, and when she asked the priest for phone, she held it up and commented that hers was wet (Yes, I have seen the Ericsson commercials, and no, I don't think it's a real device, but I like how they think!)

It'll eventually be a real device, its runs Ericsson's Quartz OS which was developed in cooperation with Symbian.

In Charlies Angels There were 3 PDA's. 1 Was a Palm Vx, One was a Black Visor, And The Other was a Jornada (Which by the way was what the Bad-Guy was using )
One interesting thing tho was that they were beaming from a Jornada to a Palm Vx. Hmmmmm Maybe they were using peacemaker?
