Poll: Has your Visor ever done a "Hard Reset" by itself?
I am having a debate with some people right now about how many people are had problems with their Visor spontaneously "Hard Resetting". I had this happen with 3 different Visors and my father with 2. They did not have the corrupt RAM problem (according to the reporting utility)
So if you have ever had your Visor "Hard Reset" by itself please post it here.
Thanks,
heyday

Note that to accurately catalog this data and make the poll "valid" according to the discussion to which heydey refers, you should only answer "YES" if your visor is resetting due to factors which do not include the DRAM bug, ill-behaved hacks, ill-behaved applications, etc. IOW, only hard resets due to a fault of Handspring's (besides the DRAM bug) and not attributable to third parties.
I had approximately 10 hard resets over a three month period on my Prism. The final straw was when I had one without a single additional app installed on it! I've returned that Prism and my new one seems fine...
I had a really weird hard reset during school. My Visor wouldn't turn on, and when I went to do a soft reset, it did a hard one, without asking me! I never found out what happened, but I had my backup module, that had a recent backup on it, so I just restored my Visor right there and than. Though this was ona a Visor Plat, and has never happened again. weird.

Are Visors more likely to spontaneously reset than Palms?
In my personal experience (which includes four PalmOS devices I've owned personally (one Visor and three Palms) and tech support on hundreds of devices of all description), I don't think either brand (Handspring or Palm) spontaneously hard resets more than the other. I have seen both types hard reset because of the DRAM bug or because of wonky rechargable batteries, or because of a particularly hard knock, but as for standard devices, with nothing installed on them, I'd say they're about even.
If the Visor freezes and you don't do anything about it right away then it can clear the memory. I had this happen once, a friend was using my Prism and it froze - he left it like that for 3 minutes before telling me. By the time I did a soft reset the memory was cleared.

I Love My Prism!
Well, this is something like a hard reset.
Hotsync thinks that my Visor has been hard resetted. It started copying all my files etc onto my Visor, doubling them up. CRAZY!
So not being able to figure out what was wrong in 2 min, I took out my backup module, and restored my Visor to last night.
What the hell happened?
