-- EM Patch not working for me (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9219)

Unhappy

I got the patch from EM customer support but it didn't work at all. Sounds like it worked for some of you anyway. I got my Prism 2 weeks ago and I'm going through EM withdrawl. If you've got any tips I'd appreciate hearing from you. Also I'd like to hear from others for whom the patch did not work.

Have you tried this...

The patch worked for me on the very first try. I don't have any hacks installed, even removed Hackmaster. I also am not running any programs that have caused my Visor to act 'funny'.

RE: EM Patch not working for me

It worked for me on the first try too, and I'm using Launch 'Em with hacks installed.

The viewfinder is in BW, but once you take the picture, the color is visible, provided you selected that option.

All in all, nothing earth-shattering, but it does work in my prism. This thing is nothing more than a toy camera anyway, but it is a cute novelty.

Didn't work for me. I had fatal errors and had to do soft resets. Had to send the unit back to Block for a replacement. The replacement should be here next week. Very unhappy about the whole situation.

Thumbs up

Eyemodule patch worked on my Prism without any problems. Eyemodule is definitely more "useful" on the Prism than it was on the Deluxe.

I have hacks (TealGlance, PopUp Names & Calculator & Note & Suite, Phlegm, Find, FitalyStamp) and many apps (including QuickBits, Launch'Em 3 beta, TealLock, Shield, etc. installed.

For all you guys that the eyepatch did not work for hope is on the way

Fortunately, we have an alternative version available. This variant of the update software only changes the eyemodule program that is stored on-board the memory of the handheld, and does not load itself onto the eyemodule. This variant of the update software will be made available tomorrow, November 8, at 5pm PST.

Thank you for your patience, and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,

the eyemodule team

Now my only question is will there be a permanent fix somewhere down the road and for the ones that eyepatch did work for should we also install this on or just leave well enough alone?

Herkimer,

I would definitely prefer that the eyemodule team work on a permanent fix so that updates are made on the eyemodule springboard itself.

I'm also hoping that there will be a new release sometime soon that will allow us to view images in color on the Prism instead of having to snap the pictures in b&w.

Thanks

Ok here is the answer i got back from IDEO about the eyepatch upgrade:

My question:
If the first eyepatch software update worked with my
Prism do i need to install the second or just leave well enough alone for now?

IDEO Answer:
Thank you for contacting eyemodule Customer Support.

In your case, I would leave well enough alone. If the patch installed and all is working, you will not need the current update.

We hope this information has been helpful.

Well i guess that answers that and i received it less than two hours after it was sent. I think some of the other module manufactures should take lessons from IDEO on customer service.
