I recently dropped my Visor Deluxe (oops!) and caused a small crack in the lower right corner of the screen which spread to the other side within a couple of days. I guess this is something Handspring will not replace for free but was wondering if they sell replacement digitizers w/out the LCD. I see that www.gethightech.com sells used palm digitizers which will fit the Visor but I kinda wanted a NEW VISOR digitizer any suggestions? Thanks!

New digitizers

As far as I have ever heard, Handspring doesn't sell *any* components to their handhelds. The small supply of used and "gray-market" parts that are out there aren't offically encouraged.

Get hightech seems to be pretty good - my snap cover broke after a year, and I purchased a replacement from them. I had requested a replacement ICE from Handspring, but they never sent one. I gave up and looked for aftermarket solutions. Stuff came via USPS from hightech quite promptly.

Best of luck,

Tucson Sailors

I broke my Visor's digitizer a while ago and ordered a replacement from gethightech. They're great people, easy to deal with, and when the first replacement screen they sent me started to go bad within just a couple days, they sent a new one out right away, no questions asked. The new one's given me no trouble at all.

I replaced it myself, by the way, and took pictures of the experience. You can take a look at http://indecisions.org/visorfix/

I can understand you wanting a Visor digitizer instead of Palm =) The only difference, though, is the icons, and you get used to it after a couple days.
