-- Why can't I install MathLib.prc on my Visor Prism? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=14722)
Any idea why MathLib.prc won't install on my Prism, running Palm OS 3.5.2? I can install other .prc files no problem,
but when I try to install MathLib.prc I get "synchronization failed" error messages in the log and I get a "Fatal Exception" on the Visor, followed by a forced soft reset. It's not a file corruption problem, it's happened with different downloads of MathLib from different sites.
I've removed all my hacks, I have plenty of memory, I've deleted every program that I no longer need or can easily recover, I even tried removing the VisorPhone during the HotSync, no luck. This is getting annoying, I need MathLib to run a Palm calculator I bought. Thanks for any help!

I've loaded mathlib.prc onto my Prism with no problems. I've also deleted it and run all the programs that claim to need it without any problems. The is a MathLib in the masked ROM.
Have you tried running the calculator?
Thanks Dessa! Problem solved, fix described
Thanks Dessa, that was the clue I needed. For some reason, at least for my combination of hardware, OS, and MathLib, a new version won't install over the internal one. Since the executable I got when I bought the software calculator automatically installed both the program and MathLib, it died. The fix is to go into the install folder after the executable is run and delete MathLib.prc, so that only the app is installed. Did that, it runs fine. Thanks again!

I had the same problem, except I was trying to get it beamed to me. Said "beam interrupted". Seemed that the MathLib file was already installed from a previous application. Just ran the calculator and it worked fine.
