Any one getting this MemPlug Error?
I'm running HS OS 3.5.2H1.4 with the 1.6 version software on the MemPlug. Now any time I try to do anything with the MemPlug; PiMover, PiDirect, PiViewer, I get the following error:
Fatal Exception
../SRC/HsExtCard.c,
Line:4408
HsSysPatchRemove Err
--Dave
Dave,
Yes, I am having the same problem and have notified Portable Innovation. They are studying the problem based upon the reponse I received.

Thanks for the info Dave. If/when I get a resolution to this issue I'll be sure to post it here.

Wow that was quick!!
I just got this response from Pi. I just sent them an e-mail 1/2 hour ago! I wish other Springboard manufactures (GeoDiscovery) were on the ball like Pi!
David:
This is related to the conflict between PiDirect and new HS extensions patch
update.
We will release an update for PiDirect to address this problem soon (within
2 days). By the meantime,
you may remove the update with the following procedure
Uninstall the OS patch.
1. Do a HotSync
2. Delete the HS Ext update(HsExtensions_3_5_2_v__1_4.prc) from PC's backup
3. Do a hard reset
4. Do a HotSync again.
5. You Visor shall be as normal except the update removed
Best Regards,
Patrick Lin
PIT
Dave, thank you and PiDirect.

I had that error and figured out that the problem was no files in the PiDirect directory(\palm\PiDirect) I had this problem from the time I reformatted the card. What I did was put a second card in which had files in the directory. I disabled PiDirect. I reinserted the first card and used PiMover to put files into the directory. I renabled PiDirect and all is well.
MORAL: make sure your card has file(s) in the PiDirect directory.
p.s. They are working on it and are expecting to have an update in a couple of days.

That's right.. Nothing will work till there's a file in the PiDirect directory. You either need to use a card reader to put the file there or use a second card set up with a file in it's PiDirect directory.
Pideveloper, we need an automated method to shut PiDirect off if there are no files in the directory.

For those who have problem in disable PiDirect with HS Updater,
Please follows the below steps:
1. Go into PiDirect (or PiDirectPanel)
2. Tick the check box of disable after reset
3. Exit to the launcher
4. Do a soft-reset.
PiDirect should be disable after reset, and then you could fill up files under PiDirect specified directory.
We will provide update for this problem soon.

When we have this problem is when we do #1. PiDirect won't run if we're having this problem.
PiDirect directory
I also ran into the problem of frequent crashes after updating to 1.6 on a brand new MemPlug. To get around the problem of no files in the pi-direct directory, since I don't own any other cards or a writer, I ran the 1.3 update to overwrite the 1.6 and than was able to access pi-mover to put something in the directory. I than used the 1.6 update again an everything worked fine. This got me around the need to delete the Handspring update patch. Hope this helps some other new users until the updated fix is available.

1.61 Update Available
FYI, the update is available from the PI website. I ran the update and everything works great now!
PI does a fantastic job of customer support!

Dave, thanks. I ran the latest update and all is well. Thanks for staying on top of this.

Woops..
The only crash I get is when I re-insert the MemPlug. When I remove it I don't get a crash.
