Prism paint chipping

Need some feedback...

I am thinking of upgrading from my trustworthy vdx (one of the first ones to roll out) to a prism soon. I remember reading about the prism's paint rubbing off on the back and over the buttons over time.

I was just wondering if this is still the case? Or has HS addressed this problem and shipped out a "fixed" batch of prisms already.

Thanks

I purchased my prism a little over 2 months ago and there is paint wear but no chipping...It's not even that bad for me considering i dont use a case and just throw my visor in anypocket that it fits in.

The only chipping I've had is due to my prism hitting the blacktop.

Other than that it just shows some rubbing. But that's after a year of constant use.

Get one while they last!

My prism is so beat up its not funny , no poaint on the buttons hardly any paint on the back, those damn cracks everywhere....but hey it still looks good, runs fast, and works.....if your prism is in mint shape then you dont use it enough

All new prisms in stores have a new kind of paint that fixes the problems. I know this becuase I've had a pre-produciton casing (not the final one, this one's a bit off in color) that has lasted very very beautifully with my Prism...

The Treo uses this new paint along with a hardcoat. The Neo/Pro have the hardcoat. The Pro uses the new paint. The Prism has been updated with the new paint

Everything should be fine as long as you buy new. If youbuy a used one there really is no way to tell if the paint is good or not, until you wear it down.

Just got a prism for like less than a month, the paint at the bottom of my prism is already starting to wear....but not chip the part where the prism rests in the hotsync cradle. Oh well.
