-- infrared printing adapter (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=11597)
Has anyone out there see an infrared printing adapter that hooks up to the back of a non-infrared printer and allows a visor to print via infrared? Basically I'm looking for something like the one available for the psion (store.yahoo.com/psion-shop/ir-printercable.html) thanks jj
I'm betting that the Psion ones work with the Palm, but I don't have that much confidance to actually purchase one online (If they had one locally that I could easily return, I would). I asked a similar question, if the Diamond Makor adapter would work (which is a rebranded Psion one), but never got a reply

If I recall correctly, I have been using my PDA for awhile so my memory may be off
, when the Psion adapter came out there were several web articles out saying it coud be used with any PDA or computer that had IR. I'll try to see if I can find the issue of Pen Computing that it was featured in and get some more definitive info.

The ACT-IR100M IrDA Print Adaptor found at http://d-store.com/d-store/psion/irlink100M.htm appears to be the same one found at http://papyrus.co.il/Products/irda_printer.htm . The latter is a company from Israel. Papyrus claims it is compatible with " . . . Palm Pilot III, V & VII
Sharp Zaurus, Power Zaurus. . ." Presumably, they are compatible with a Visor, but I don't know about the return policy.

I like using the HP DeskJet 340 with my VDX or PRISM. I currently use Printboy to get the stuff to the printer.
I had bought the Actisys IR adapter but I never was able to get it to work with my VDX and several different printers. I returned it in December and have yet to recieve a refund despite an email to the company.
Am still looking for that article. Moved in late Nov. and most of my stuff is still in boxes (wife and kids are unpacked though- their stuff I mean).

I know the Psion 56k modem works with PalmOS.

Cool Matt. Can you give details?
Michael
Its an IR modem, people have posted about it in the past on these boards. It was originally marketed just for Psion, but now they market to everyone.
Amazon has a product page for it here
