Anybody get one yet? I asked a question in another thread asking if the box was cushy enough to toss around? In the pic of the clear one doesn't look like there is any. (Nhatman mentioned installing some custom foam)

That, and has anybody see any of the other colors? All I've seen is black, blue, and my favorite color clear

i have a grey one, and i wouldn't throw it around unless the visor is in it's slip case. It's kinda slides around if you put it in without the case. Besides from that it's a great little case, seems really tough.

We dropped them on the floor (see reviews) and had no problems.

Maybe we'll run over them one day

Maltair, I don't know if I had mentioned it earlier, but I have 2 OB 3000. One is aquamarine and the other is clear/green. It is so multipurpose that even if I don't use it for my visor, I can put my cell phone, wallet, etc. in it when I go camping/fishing/sailing. You won't regret getting one.

It's virtually indestructable. The OB website even shows one being run over by a Jeep!

The 3000 is bigger so that's why I have some custom foam in it (I bought the 3000 so I can store the GPS module in it). Even if it can survive some rattling in a OB 2000 without additional foam, would you want to take that chance? After tossing it around without foam, the electronics may develop fatigue failures (common in electronics subjected to repeated shock or vibration). I think it would be worth the investment to put some foam in it, that's all.

I bought my OB 3000 at www.gear.com for only $13.99 (cheapest I've ever seen). And it's only 25 cents (yes, cents) for S&H. They used to have 3 colors, but they only have the aquamarine one now.

Good luck!

I have been using an Otter box 2000 and inserting a o.25 inch thick piece of foam into one of the sections. If I have the plastic snap-on cover on the visor, it slides around a just a little bit, but if I place a karma cloth under the visor, it does not slide around at all. Does the visor with just the slip on leather case (no plastic snap-on cover)fit inside the otter box 2000? I don't really like the snap-on cover, but have been afraid to give it a try since it is hard to gage the pressure being placed on the visor. The EB slipper seems a bit "thinner" than the stock case and maybe the answer.

Thanks,

Question

So just how much clearance do you get with an Otterbox 2000? I know nhatman is planning on a 3000 when he gets his GPS (which doesn't look like it adds much footprint to the Visor), so I take it the 2000 is pretty snug.

My Eyemodule (yeah, I had to Spring for it, pun intended ) adds about 15mm to the top of the visor, nothing to the thickness. Would it fit in a OB2k with the requisite padding to keep everything safe & secure?

Thanks!

Paul,

I think it would fit fine, I think i have the 2000 case and i can fit some extra batteries in the space above mine.

Birdie
I usually keep my visor inside the otter box with the slip on case but no cover, fits fine, the slip on has a lot foam so there's some give there.
