-- Minijam Browser Troubles (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=12459)

Innogear recommends that you:
1) Disable Hotsync
2) Put your Visor with Minijam in the USB cradle
3) Launch Miniloader, which will then be "waiting for connection"
4) Then launch Minijam Browser on computer.

I've done that and get a few results (not the one I want).

1. Finder crashes and recovers.
2. Minijam Browser says "Connection timed out." (Or something to that effect.)
3. The cursor icon goes back and forth between the stopwatch and the arrow.
4. MJ Browser never sees the MMC cards in the Minijam Module.

Followup:
1. Tried allocating more ram to Minijam Browser. Same results (see above).
2. Minijam Player recognizes both MMC cards and plays from them.

Questions:
1. Does anyone have a procedure for making this configuration work?
2. Does anyone know if another software package can be configured to load mp3s onto the Minijam in a Visor?
3. If someone does have this system working, what related kinds of software are installed (iTunes, MusicMatch Jukebox, etc.)?

Secod Follow-up:
1. Since Finder crashed, trashed Finder prefs and restarted.
2. Uninstalled all iTunes software.
3. Downgraded recent upgrades: URL Access from 2.3 to 2.0 and CarbonLib from 1.2.5 to 1.0.
4. Success!
5. Appleworks doesn't run without CarbonLib > 1.0, so I need to test to see if MJ Browser works with 1.2.5. Will post results.

software updates

I had some problems when I first got my MiniJam.. after making sure I'd actually installed ALL the software off the disk (there's a separate file for the MiniLoader and for the MusicMatch plug-in), and downloading the latest updates from InnoGear, I haven't had any problems.. You're running on a Mac, though, so don't know how much help this will be..

Good luck!
P.S. for the money, get the SpeedLoader.. I can fill a 64MB card in about 10 minutes, and I haven't had any issues with it's loader software..

I found one minor bug with the speed loader, really long file names crashes the "speedloader" program. You can rename the file and easily restart it.. I have not done any test to figure out what the max file name length is..
