Why I am keeping my Platinum ...
The reason I bought the Handspring Platinum was to use the DateBook+, Memo, To-Do and Address book. I immediately erased the games. The Platinum is my first PDA. It works so well that I am afraid to change to another one. I went through the "I want a color screen" phase. That Sony Clie is a fine unit, but it does NOT have DateBook+. I depend on DateBook+. I would also like a little more memory, but the on-board 8MB works fine with the apps that I installed: Vindigo, Zagat, and Metro. For the present time, I am staying with the Platinum. I may even buy another Handspring. (The Neo seems to be the same machine with a different color.) I think I have recovered from color screen distraction.

i got a platinum too. and boy can i understand that gut wrenching "i want a color screen" phase. am still not through it but i'm happy with my platinum and feel i'll get over it soon.
Everyone goes through that "I want a color screen phase." Sometimes, it just depends on finances. I for one don't have the finances to get a new PDA. If I had the disposable money, I would most definitely get a color PDA, either a Prism or a Clie T615, most likely a Prism so I can still use my Springboard modules.
In the mean time though, I am happy with my Platinum. With the Memplug SM, it does most of what the Palm m500 does. Notice I didn't say the m505 as it does not have a color screen. I hav ea camera and I have programs I love to use.
As far as Datebook+ goes, it is based on Datebk3. If you need to switch to a Clie, you can use Datebk3 and get all of Datebook+s functions and much more. Datebk4 is a larger version of Datebk3 and is much better. That's the one I use.

I'm keeping my Plat until somebody comes out with a pda-phone combo that supports 16bit color, has some kind of memory expansion-preferably sd mem, has 16mb of on board mem, a flash rom, and if possible play MP's.
Me too.
I want a color-screened PDA, but I'll wait until:
1) it is as thin as an Edge.
2) It also includes a DirecTV decoder, can receiver direcTV off their satellite, and will play direcTV progamming on the screen.
3) Or it at least can recieve OTA television signals, and show them on the screen.
4) It has a nuclear battery that lasts for several decades, yet won't harm any unborn children.
5) it is flexible, so I can slip it in my rear jean's pocket and not have the screen crack when I sit down.
6) The phone is built in, but when in my own home will simply use my own wireless phone frequencies, and not Cell frequencies.
7) An MP3 player is built in.
8) wireless internet 802.11a AND b, if possible.
9) thermal sensor. Knows if it's not on me, and forwards appointment alarms to all my email adresses and my cell phone and pager, just in case.
10) built-in personality. Talks back to me. Nicely, though.
I'll wait.
