People selling visors on ebay are STILL getting more than they paid for the visors. Most finish at about 300$ these days. I just wish these people could come here to visorcentral. I saw one sleez who said they were backordered and were still a six week wait. Whatever, im not the one forking over 300$ plus overpriced shipping. Just wanted to comment on that.

I think a lot of people who hit eBay are newbies...or that's the only site they hit. The visor's not so bad...I've seen worse.

I just checked eBay for "Chevron Cars"...and noticed a "Patty Patrol" going for $15 currently. You can go to chevroncars.com and buy the same thing for $7.99. Percentage wise...that's a lot worse than a visor for $300.

There's a sucker born every minute...and most of them are newbies on eBay...

I believe that most of the people on Ebay are newbies or that literally is the only site they know about..

I also bet that a lot of them don't really know you can actually buy most of the things they do online.

My classic example is The Matrix on DVD..
It wasn't coming out until Sept 20 but people were selling it on Ebay in October, saying they'll ship it when it arrives. Most people were getting $25 for every auction they put up. You could go to ANY DVD retailer online and get it for 12-13 bucks easily. Some people just don't know how to look around.

i agree with all of you, but someone on this board raised a good point - a lot of people outside the USA still can't get their hands on a visor through normal channels, so they have to resort to ebay and the like.

i'm not sure how handspring stands right now on international fulfillment, but i hope my foreign brothers and sisters have access to the visor soon!

Well, I actually had raised this point about international orders in a previous post. But now I'm looking at Palm IIIx's on Ebay with current bids at $220 plus shipping. You can currently buy them online at several big name sites for $185 - $199 with free shipping, and all of these sites do ship internationally.

So while I'm sure that some of these Visors on Ebay are for international customers, many are for US customers who are either caught up in the auction frenzy or just plain ignorant.

Hey, eBay's not all bad, I saved $35 (including shipping) on a new watch I bought recently. You just have to make sure eBay's the last place you check when you're buying online, and not the first.

I read an article the other day saying that handpspring plans on getting the visors to europe and japan in the next quarter, and by the end of the year it will be everywhere.

PS. sorry i wasnt very clear in the subject, i love ebay, but some of the sellers are just greedy. Especially the ones selling visors.

Hey, I don't like the inference some of you are making towards ebay Visor sellers such as myself. First off let me just say that I was not in it for the money. In fact I set the initial bid on every Visor I sold at a substantially lower price than the retail price. I'm selling a Graphite deluxe unit right now starting at $210. Most of my buyers are international. It's just a good place to get rid of your Visor if you want something different.

In my case I want a colored unit when they hit the stores. If anyone has a recommendation as to what colors look good I would like to hear your opinions. I've seen the Orange one and it looked pretty good, but I don't like ICE (too boring). I've never seen Blue or Green, although I do have the colored styli from the Stylus pack and I would think the colors would correspond to their respective Visors. So far I'm opting for Blue.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with selling your Visor, or anything, on Ebay and getting more than the retail price for it. Ebay is a great place to sell stuff. Can you help it if people bid higher than what you paid?

The only problem I have is when people intentionally misrepresent the facts, such as stating that the current expected delivery time is still 6+ weeks. It's obvious to me that anyone who is selling quantities of these knows better.

I agree with bregent...there is nothing wrong with selling visors on ebay and getting more money than the retail, as long as the info you give is correct. I was looking at ebay for visors just for fun and someone was calling a Green VDx rare...i really wonder why, since you can order any color you want from handspring...the other problem is that they are still quoting the 6 week shipping times. Let the buyer beware. My advice is that you should always research as much as you can about anything that you buy that will take a large bite out of your wallet.
