-- Liberty on new Prism/Platinum (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=8752)
Has anyone tried Liberty on the new models yet? I'd be interested to hear if they run closer to actual gameboy speeds.

I'd also like to know how it runs. Do you still need to turn on some of the options in afterburner or does it work fine without it?

I'd have to say that my Prism is a bit SLOWER at playing Liberty games. I have to use Quickbits and Afterburner Hack to get it close to reasonable speed. My Visor Deluxe with Quickbits/Afterburner is noticably faster. I suspect (can someone confirm?) that the Platinum is faster than the Deluxe at playing Liberty games.
What kinda games are we talking about? LIke Dr. Mario or somthing like MarioLand?

ill confirm that. my platinum burns through tetris. if someone wants to pay for the registration for me, ill be glad to test other games.
I beleive the newest version works for 30 days using any size game then reverts back to the size limit imposed by the original.

Liberty Slow On Platinum
Hey [email protected], what games are you running? Liberty is really slow on my Platinum, though I've never seen it run on anything else so I don't have anything to compare it to.
Tetrablox plays slow, but maybe that's because it's level one and I haven't figured out to increase levels. However, Mario Brothers is extremely sluggish and is not even playable...
Is this normal? Maybe I'm just so used to the pace of Quake3 that gameboy games seem slow?
BTW, my Platinum's benchmarks are normal.
I have a registered version of Liberty, and it does seem slower on on the Prism, and the Deluxe (running Afterburner @32Mhz). I emailed Daniel Wee (who wrote Afterburner) yesterday to see if there are any plans for a newer version for the Prism/Platinum crowd. Here's what he said (he seems like a pretty cool guy):

I can't get my hands on a Prism just yet but if and when I do, I will look into
it.

Also, I'm going to try installing the my (also registered) copy of Afterburner on my Prism to see if there's any speed increase. I'll post what I find out...

Hey guys i just got a E-Mail from Gambit Studios asking if i wanted to get a copy of Liberty Beta 1.2 with a 10-35% SPEED INCREASE and some sound and i said YES!!!! so i will let you know what i get and how it works.....
The new version of Liberty 1.2 (Beta at the moment) is great on my Prism. I have never played on a gameboy but this new version must be real close with color and much faster play than version 1.1 and it does have sound but that part you will have to judge for your self i am not much on sound and just turned it off. Most of the games i played in 2 frame mode and they were smooth not jumping and the color is nice but it will be out soon and you can just try it for your self. http://www.gambitstudios.com/ have fun.....
I am testing Liberty Beta 1.2 too!
runs sweet!! Even with AB2!! The sound sucks though!
Thanks for your reply about the Prism running at good speeds. I am so close to ordering a Prism, but I am going to wait for the price to drop (I hope) after Palm releases the color Palm V. My VDX is only 5 months old and I just can't justify a new one right now.
I too now have the new Liberty 1.2 and it runs great on my VDX. The sound does get annoying on most games, but on Tetris, if you turn off the music in the options and just let sound effects play, it sounds pretty good!!! All the other games I tried, the sound is just too annoying to listen to.
