-- Cool Sylus/Pen combo (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=7683)
I was at the mall today and went into Sharon Luggage and came accross a little gem. The Tornado Data Pen from Retro 51 - http://www.retro51.com . I paid $19.95 but after I got back I found them online for about $17. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere so I figure I would write a mini-review.
The Data Pen has a standard pen and a stylus in a package that is about 4.25" long and has a .5" diameter. You turn the top to one side and the pen comes out, turn to the other and you get the stylus. I thought the stylus was a little too pointy at first (I use plain vinyl screen protectors and it was leaving big indentations when I wrote accross the screen). I decided to sand down the point a little with some ulta-fine sandpaper and then the point was just how I like it. After playing with the pen for a little while I found that I could hook it into my EB Slipper's IR cutout and have a nice pen and stylus with me all of the time. At first I thought I could hook it to the top of the flap where it folds but it I just didn't like it there, I also tried to hook at the top of the case right next to my visor but it scratched the plastic of my Visor when I took it out. For some reason it does not scratch the Visor when I put it in the IR cutout.
I took a few photos that help illustrate what I am talking about if you are interested in checking them out. Go to http://home.earthlink.net/~nohair/tornado/ Sorry if they are a little dark, all of that black was playing havoc with my camera.
All of the standard disclaimers apply. I have no affiliation, just though this was a cool little stylus.
Matt
Thats a nice looking pen! But I've found that the PDApoint stylus pen by ttools does the same job pretty much. The pen is all plastic but has a pointed tip that acts as the stylus. The pen is retractable and takes Parker refills, plus the pocket clip can be inserted into the stylus silo to keep everything together. Its about 10.00 which is a deal.
Gotta link for that, Bear?
