The newly announced CUE FM receiver Springboard is a good idea (kicked around this board since inception), but it missed the mark by having an antennae that sticks out the top of the card an inch or so tall and as wide as the card. I'm sure that's so you can subscribe to the FM data service, but why couldn't you have a reciever that fits in the Springboard form factor itself?

The answer to your question, I think, is in your question. The receiver can fit in the module, it's the antenna that has to stick out. If this was a unit that was all in one (like one of those tiny Nokias) the antenna could be incorporated into the entire case. They probably had to have so much "square footage" for the antenna and chose that form as opposed to a longer antenna that would be likely to interfere with usage or break. The coverage for the receiver is very impressive, especially if they haven't exaggerated it. At least thats the way I see it.
