Windows Product Activation. It is what people who get Windows XP (like myself) and Office XP have to go through to be able to use these products more than a month. Essentially it is mandatory product registration.

It is not that big a deal to me but for some who have many computers, it is a huge headache and a showstopper.

That doesn't sound like much fun, I register most programs anyway. Does the system just render the software inoperable, or just do a nag screen?
