It's a sign of my increasing Visor Bravado that I'm now spending more time on the How To/Troubleshooting board than my past favorites, the Accessories and SpringBoard boards.
Here's the latest disaster...
I currently use Palm Desktop + Avantgo + TrueSync for Yahoo!
Syncing between all gives me Avantgo on my Visor, and unified address, contact, and calendar information between my Visor, my Palm Desktop software, my Outlook 2000, and my Yahoo! account. (Mind you, I only export to Yahoo!, not import) Everything's worked like a charm.
But then I got greedy.
I also subscribe to Intranets.com, a nifty service that, in its latest upgrade, is offering an Intellisync program to sync between the Intranets.com site, Outlook, and the Palm Desktop. Like a good lemming, I downloaded and installed the Intellisync software.
[This is where you all can rest easy - I DID back up my Visor onto a backup module - I'm not THAT stupid...]
The first sync with all of the software loaded in was an unmitigated disaster. The Intellisync crashed, and the sync stopped dead in its tracks. I had to do a soft reset.
I'm dumb, but not that dumb, so I uninstalled Intellisync. I also recovered my Visor data from the Backup Module.
Now, I cannot sync. My Hotsync log repeats the following error message:
HotSync operation started 10/30/00 15:09:54
HotSync Error:
An application failed to respond to a
HotSync notification. Please check the Palm Desktop for details. (8009)
My Visor gives me the following message, which also appears on the screen before the sync crashes:
HotSync problem
HotSync operation was interrupted. some of your data
was NOT backed up. For details, tap HotSync Log on the
HotSync screen.
And, with that, the Hotsync terminates. I can no longer sync. At all. My HotSync does not even start into Avantgo, which usually started my HotSync in the past.
What to do? Am I totally out of luck? Do I need to reinstall something? How to get back to where I was?
Thanks in advance for your kind and patient assistance for a guy who knew better but ignored his better instincts.

Well folks, I reloaded all the relevant software on my desktop PC and everything works fine. No need to respond, but it's worth an advisory note - be careful of the add-ons you put in your PC. Some of them don't work together....
