Bright spot on Prism display

My new Prism has a bright spot on the display. It's in the top right corner, about 5mm from the right edge, and 8mm down from the top. It appears the bright spot is caused by the light source behind the LCD, as it appears to be behind the display a few mm, and it moves slightly as I rotate the Prism left to right. Also it is dimmest as the Prism is roated right, and brightest towards the left.

It also casts a fainter & much larger bright spot to the left of the first bright spot.

Does anyone else's Prism show this sort of display flaw? I'm inclined to try and get Handspring to replaced it, as it's quite annoying at times.

....tip for you all...loosen the top screw behind the "dot"

the VP are too tight that dot is the board pressing the back of the screen...loosen that screw and you will see it magically disapear!!! love me now

Alas, it didn't do anything for my bright spot. :-(

I've seen pressure distortions in color LCD's before, and this is something different. It's a pinpoint bright spot behind the LCD itself. The flaw appears to be a "hot spot" in the light source.

I've no idea how the Prism's display and light source are put together, but I'm half tempted to open it up and take a look. Then my more rational half says I should just give Handspring tech support another call...

Lightbulb Get a replacement.

Hey,

I got a replacement for the same problem so just do it. Do not open the case. It is not worth it.

Well, as I said, I did try loosening the screw, and it didn't make any difference. Neither does squeezing the Prism.
