Unwanted Hotsync

My Visor Neo tries to hotsync all the time -- in my purse, when I'm using an application, etc. It can't, of course, since it's not in the hotsync cradle, so then I have to cancel, if I'm using it, or if it happens when it's in my purse, then I've got a hotsync error msg when I turn it on. Also, when it does try to hotsync by itself, sometimes it turns itself on and stays on, eating up the battery.

I've tried getting rid of 3rd party software -- no difference. I've also reinstalled everything from the pc -- also no difference.
Help, please

Hopefully there is not a short somewhere inside. If it is the software, doing a soft Reset will cure it (press the reset button - you data will be ok).

I hadn't thought of a short -- i'll dig out my warranty and see if it's still in effect. Soft resets galore have had no effect.
